FYI - There have been thousands of songs in the past that had plenty of "groove" even though the kick & bass landed on the same beat.
Absolutely, I'm not disputing that.

I am not going to rearrange the kick & bass. I will have to find another way to make my mix stand out from the crowd.

Hello!

Nice one 3ee!

I went for a 80's sound, with a dark preference because of the way I felt that music.
I kept most of the original sounds and included delays because you must have chosen them for a reason in the production phase.
Maybe that's a wrong choice because creative mixes were allowed, and some were successfully realized, but I explain my point of view.

Technically, I mostly played with EQ, compression, transients, and widening plugins.
I muted some parts, automated others in search for contrasts.

I hope that you'll appreciate my option on your tracks 3ee, have fun with the R2 selection, and see you soon everybody!

Hey to all!
Just want it make biggy and deeply you know. Pro-Q2 Fabfilter, Aurosor Empirical Labs, Ableton Compressor, Klanghelm SDRR are the tools. Just remove boxiness and 80s, 'cause for me autumnal atmosphere is like to be crispy and clean like the rain dropped in yellow leaves) Cheers

First of all, great track. Thanks 3ee.

This is what I did in order to make the track less repetitive:
- Ran the drum bus through a filter in the first breakdown and in the outro
- Added different amount of delay to couple of snare hits in second and third break
- Added slight amount of delay to the hats in third verse
- Added a low volume snare fill
- Added spatial movement to Tambourine [Plugin - PanCake 2]

Used FabFilter Pro-Q on almost every track for surgical EQ duties
Used three busses for Delay, Short Reverb and Long Reverb [Plugins - PSP CmDelay, VVV]
Drums grouped into a track except the Tamb hit and Survival crash. I must admit I spent a lot of time on adjusting these two tracks.

During this track mixing I stumbled upon Airwindows plugins and I found them really good for what they do and really low on CPU.
- Airwindows Buscolors, IronOxideClassic, Air, FathomFive, EveryTrim, Capacitor, PurestGain, ADClip7, Density, Loud

I have also used VolumeShaper on the bass track for faux side-chaining. Very minimal, wherever there is a clash between kick and bass

I like the mix. You added a snare fill? How did you do that?

Actually, It's not a real snare fill but sounds like that. May be I am not using the correct word. You can hear it at 0:32 and again towards the end. I used a combination of multiple effects (glitch, filter, etc.) found in Tantra plugin.

I heard that but wasn't sure if that was what you were talking about. :tu:
