thank you for the challenge contest that you are holding.

here my mix, I tried to mix with stock and free plugins.

free plugins that I use: voxengo, melda, variety of sounds, head crusher, TDR & Ferox.

I tried to mix with reverb and a little delay.

Thank you for the feedback! Happy to be in Round 2 for my first submission!

I worked a bit on the snare panning and the drum sound, tweaked the synth's delay and added some low and mid frequencies to the vocals for a better full range sound, here's my R2 submission!

Hello and here is R-2 mix.
I went through and EQed/rebalanced somethings. The other thing was some automation on some of the tracks Snare.BG guitar etc..

Hello!
I've made a few changes for the mix, I realised thanks to John that the kick was taking all the protagonism and more..

Here is my mix for round 2:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/166uvYm ... cA--v/view

Kick: Less power through ANIMATE Ignite vst module for softer sounding.
Hi-hats: Raised a bit in volume (0.5db)
Bass: Added an automation clip at start lowering the 6th note played and reducing a bit the volume.

Key pads: Increased a bit the levels.
Voice: Removed muddy frequencies (200 hz -2.8 db with Q factor of 2+/-) and added presence.
Backing vocals: Changed the balance of all the backing vocals by +1/-1 db.

Removed some sibilances on guitars, voice and snare with Waves F6 Stereo EQ.
Replaced final automation so song can finish softer.

Thank you.

Hi, friends.

Here's my mix for 2nd round:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JMCE5D ... sp=sharing

As John suggested, I fixed the low end of the mix, applying low cuts both on bass and kick drum. I took the opportunity to make small adjustments to the overall balance of the mix. I think it got better. I improved the blend in snare a little to a better tone; Corrected the balance and equalization of the drums' hi-end; I attenuated the high frequencies in the main vocal also because I thought that the tape saturation was very evident in that frequency region.

Thanks and good luck all.

Hi Everyone,
Here's the link for my Mix Round 2
Mix and Screenshots

What I've done:
- Fixed the Phase Issues and mono compatibility and the overcooking mix bus, the guilty was a stupid button in a plugin...
- Fixed some tonal balance as well
- Have reviewed the drums and fixed some things that wasn't so well panned but now they are
- I thought the voice was a little bit louder and now I fixed it too, think now is more balanced then before
- Removed some muddiness as well
This is it...
Hope you enjoy it!!!

Hi everyone,
here is my edit for R2 :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1un7E-Z ... sp=sharing

What I've done :
- refining the drum room verb and the lead slap delay ;
- rebalancing and EQing the mix in mono and at different levels ;
- working on the busses (drums, leads, chords and keys) to enhance the depth of the overall mix
To my ears, the result seems less raw but more balanced.

Thanks again John for this challenge !
Good luck to all !
