I'm voting early so that I can read everyone's comments as they're posted without introducing bias into my own thinking.

I downloaded all the tracks, loaded them up in foobar2000, randomized the order a couple times, and started listening. Here we go!

P.S.
@Jorgeelalto I wrote my above comments and picked my votes before reading your post. Just want to let you know I'm not trading kindness for kindness -- I mean what I wrote. And I'm glad the hard deadline of SWC helps you make good music!

When I was near the end of working on my track, I wondered if the drums might be a bit too quiet. But it was late in the process and I was worried if I turned them up I might disrupt the balance I'd spent so much time on. I guess it's one of those situations where having a second set of ears would be helpful. The good news, though, is that the door is wide open for a club remix in the future! :hihi:

If I had to find a point to criticize, it's that the lyrics in the Em/Dm part are fairly awkward. But I'm not sure that it matters? In a way, I think it emphasizes the silliness -- in a good way! Your vocal delivery is great, too. Even though the vocal melody in the Em/Dm part is simple, it works because of the synth countermelodies in the background.
I like your feedback. It's not because you like my song, it is because you really listnened. Yeah, are the lyrics AI or me? And yes, the countermelodies were the first so I needed this simple vocalmelody. And I'm glad, you like it. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

As I already wrote, I had no intention of taking part in this competition. The real reason is what's happening today. I have to give my two cents on something I have no idea about.
So I just let my associations run free and wrote down my thoughts while listening intensively. It's certainly not the most sophisticated feedback that does credit to your work, but it's the most honest I can give you.
Please don't take it too seriously, but maybe it will give you some food for thought.

So here is my feedback:

First, many thanks to Mister Fox for this challenge and to everybody for your always interesting and varied contributions.
Secondly, sorry in advance for the given feedback, I'm really not an electronic music expert! My comments may not always be right, I mostly voted based on what I liked but to be fair I also tried to take into account a mix between the complexity of the track and the idea I had of electronic music.

It was nice to participate this time, a nice segue from the KVR OSC I usually make music for.

I think everyone had interesting music this round, so a huge round of applause to everyone

Good night,

The excuse of participating in this challenge every month helps me to try to experiment and learn different things. And above all, to try to compose a song while thinking about the structure it should have, to try to compose something correctly, to try to make a decent mix, and above all, to try to finish the song and not leave things half-finished.
This challenge is very important to me, I hope that the 1st of the month arrives to see what we have to do, what Mister Fox proposes to us. Then I always go through a moment of crisis in which an idea doesn't come to me or what I want to do doesn't come out. And little by little, the idea takes shape and I develop the song at night, and listen to the result during the next day and write down in a notebook or on my mobile the things I want to touch up in the evening when I get back to it.
I've been dedicating the last few days to mixing and adjusting the loudness values requested for the challenge.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and votes made so far.
Here are some comments about your work:

JeroenZuiderwijk - OldSkool
The song sounds really good. I like the guitars spaced out in stereo panorama. The pauses you've been putting in are good, they give a breather in this (musical) chaos and the transition effects you've been interspersing. Good feeling of frenzy...
Things I might change: Make more variations in the drum rhythm, it ends up becoming repetitive.

Strange – Is it AI
Very interesting song. Good intro. These initial and final voices you've used are very original, they have a very cool ethnic touch. On the other hand, the more conventional part of the voices, are just that, more conventional. The sounds and effects of the synthesizers are also very good.

Rick Finsta – Grind Away
Very good experimentation. It is appreciated, as you say, that you have left your usual area and have tried something very different. I like the idea that you have brought to the voices, which are more of an accompaniment than a main thing.
Very original the use of a machine (I had to look it up on the internet to see what it was) to make the rhythm of the song.
I can't give you constructive criticism because I think you have done something very appreciable.

Viklundorama - Glass panes
Interesting this constant arpeggio that accompanies your entire composition. Very original the sounds and distortions of the secondary tracks. Surprise at minute 2:00 approx. when you introduce the rhythms and then you create slightly different sections.
The part that is most difficult for me is the third, there the rhythms seem to be out of sync. I guess that is precisely the effect you were looking for. However, the 4th part everything has a certain order again.

JMmusic - Dredge
A song with a great sound design. It is very difficult for me to judge it, because I do not know how to find a reference or points of contact with other music that I may know.
I like the idea of the dialogue that two sound groups have during the song. It seems that one of the sounds says something and another replies back. This has made me listen to the song with more interest.
The little melody that sounds repeated sometimes fits your song very well as a counterpoint.

toadhjo – Binary Transcendence
A song with a great level of composition. Very interesting structure, with repetitions of certain parts and the variation in other parts very well done. I like the intro, especially where the bass increases in speed. Also a great sound design or a combination of sounds that are great. Good mix.

The Exponent - Obscura
What first stood out to me was the general sound of your song, it seemed like a good mix.
I was also surprised by the change halfway through the song, I had the feeling that you were combining two different songs, but as the second part progresses, the motifs you used in the first part returned. Very well done.

Marc Fey - Universe
Thanks for leaving your comfort zone. This way we can enjoy the result of your effort.
I like the idea of the definition of 'electro-cinematographic'. Your song really takes me on a very interesting journey. A musical journey and an experimental journey.
I like the chord progression that helps this upward journey.

Jorgeelalto - NewHouse
Very good work. Initially it reminded me of video game music, but then you make the song evolve towards other bands that make it interesting. Overall I think it's a good composition where you introduce elements that keep the listener involved. The sounds you call simple, we get along very well.
Buen trabajo Jorge!!

Thank you all again for your participation and feedback. I went through right away and wrote down my reactions, and then today took a second listen to everything and then glanced back at my notes to make sure I got the same impressions as the first time. As I am not familiar with a lot of electronic music it was nice to hear a wide variety, and I hope I have made genre-suitable judgements.

:arrow_right: A friendly reminder:
We're in the final 24 hours to submit your feedback and cast your vote.

As of this moment, 2 participants are missing. Please get that sorted out today.

Please check post #025 regarding the feedback and voting mechanic. Giving feedback is mandatory (the only criteria to become disqualified). Please don't let yourself be put at a disadvantage by not participating (fully). The Songwriting Competition lives from the given feedback towards each other. Don't just "collect" and then move on - this is unfair to all other participants.

Outside feedback is welcome, of course.
